Patna: In explosive accusations, Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy claimed on Sunday that a share of kickbacks in AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal went to the accounts of two sisters of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi in Italy.
The Rs 3, 762 crore deal is presently being investigated by CBI after it emerged that kickbacks to the tune of Rs 362 crore were allegedly paid to middlemen to swing the deal in Italian defense giant’s favour.
Speaking at a party function in Patna, Swamy appealed for a SC-monitored probe in allegations of corruption in the helicopter deal.
“The perpetrators of the scam could be brought to book only if SC monitors the probe,” said Swamy.
Earlier in 2010, Swamy had accused two sisters of Sonia Gandhi, Anushka and Nadia, of receiving Rs 18,000 crores each as part of 2G scam loot.
