Hyderabad: A lower court judge, arrested in connection with the cashfor-bail scam, has alleged that relatives of former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhana Reddy were ready to offer up to Rs 100 crore to secure bail for him.
According a remand application filed a few days ago by the state Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), which arrested K Lakshmi Narasimha Rao, the suspended chief judge of small causes court, he has confessed that Janardhana Reddy’s relative Dasaradharami made the Rs 100-crore offer.
“Krishna Prasad, an auditor, and one Venkateswara Rao, his relative, approached Narasimha Rao in the second week of April 2012 and said that Dasaradharami Reddy, a relative of Gali Janardhana Reddy, is known to him. “Dasaradharami had asked to look for a channel to influence the CBI judge for Reddy’s release on bail, and for which he was ready to pay even Rs 100 crore,” the remand application said.
The arrest of Karnataka MLAs Gali Somasekhar Reddy and T H Suresh Babu seems imminent in the case as the ACB has issued lookout notices against the two legislators, preventing them from fleeing the country.
The ACB arrested Rao on July 12. “On hearing the said figure of amount, Rao was shocked and allured. He planned to convince Naga Maruti Sharma, the CBIjudge who was dealing with Reddy’s case at the time,” according to the ACB. AGENCIES
