Nar naari Tiwari faces criminal case

HYDERABAD: The ingnominy of Narayan Dutt Tiwari is unlikely to end with his exit from the Raj Bhavan here. A criminal complaint has been lodged with the city police by a lawyer seeking prosecution of Tiwari for offences under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and the CrPc.In his complaint, the lawyer, Gopala Krishna Kalanidhi, contended that now that Tiwari is no longer holding the office of the Governor, he is ‘‘open for criminal prosecution for molestation of women and abuse of Constitutional office for personal benefits.’’ The lawyer also sought a probe into allegations that some Members of Parliament were also involved in the sex scandal. The complaint came a day after Tiwari tendered his resignation in the wake of an expose in a vernacular channel on the conversion of the Raj Bhavan into a centre for illegal sexual activities. The video footage showed an old man, who the channel claimed was Tiwari, in the company of young girls. Hyderabad Police Commissioner B Prasada Rao told Express that they were consulting legal experts to decide whether to register a case against Tiwari.Sources said Tiwari had tried his best to hang on even after his nefarious activities came to light. But a firm message from Delhi after a meeting chaired by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh sealed his fate.Throughout Sunday, Raj Bhavan officials were busy packing his belongings. He is expected to leave for Dehradun on Monday morning. Sources say the TV expose was a culmination of the murky happenings in the Raj Bhavan ever since Tiwari took over in August, 2007. Obviously, things did not work as expected for the man, who had once famously proclaimed main na nar hu, na naari hu, Narayan Dutt Tiwari hu.’’ The woman, who spoke on the channel, Radhika, claimed that girls were brought from Delhi on the promise of jobs but were used to ‘‘satisfy’’ the Governor. But, the roots seem to lie somewhere else. Radhika also spoke of how Tiwari and his officials promised her some contracts including mining licenses in Kadapa district.Obviously, the late chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy did not oblige. In fact, Reddy had no great respect for Tiwari and was seen in his company only on occasions, such as the Republic Day.Things appear to have reached a flashpoint when some officials of the Raj Bhavan captured footage of girls with the Governor and threatened to circulate it if they made a noise. Perhaps, left with no other option, the ‘‘victims’’ themselves decided to make it public. It is learnt that they tried to pass on the story to some newspapers and TV channels in Delhi but none picked it up.

Comments:

A Rajbhavan is a place where a Governor of a state with one IAS equivalent cadre serve as his Secretary. A DSP is incharge of the security. An Assistant Director level executive is in place from the Electricity Board to see that power supply is taken care at Rajbhavan. A team of lower level staff are at his service. Laundry, Food, Medical care for the Governor are fully taken care by the Govt. For what? For making it a Massage Parlour. All these executives were serving and giving VIP protection to a Massage Parlour and not Rajbhavan. May be Tiwari thought that the VIP Redlight is the mark of Redlight area.
