BHUBANESWAR/PHULBANI: A Day after filing chargesheet in the nun rape case, the Crime Branch today submitted charges against seven accused in the Swami Lakshmanananda Saraswati murder. While the State Police, at the first instance, attributed the attack to the CPI(Maoist), it remained silent later on. One of the seven accused is involved in Left wing extremist activities in Rayagada district. This has been indicated in the 270-page chargesheet. The probe agency has provided evidence for the court. The conspiracy made for the killing and alleged involvement of the locals have been pointed out too, sources said. Although CPI(Maoist)’s state organisational committee secretary Sunil had claimed responsibility for the murder of Swami and others, the chargesheet has not named any of them yet.The Crime Branch, however, has maintained that investigation is open and if and when involvement of more people is detected and evidence found, the same would be submitted before the court. The probe agency framed charges before the court of Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate, Baliguda Dola Gobinda Barik. The seven accused have been charged under Sections 302, 147, 148, 449, 120 (B) of IPC and 25/27 Arms Act.
