An interesting interview that Burka Dutt had with Salman Rushdie. Burka Dutt viciously interjects the so called Hindu fundamentalist angle relating to M.F.Hussain’s paintings without bringing out the fact that the objections from the Hindus were on his obsene painting of Hindu deities for which he even apologised. Besides, the Hindus never threatened him in any manner and Hussain left India for reasons of tax evasion and not because of his fictitious threat. It may also be that had a case filed against him in the court of law in India for his wilful hurting of the Hindu community had proceeded then he could have been convicted and he escaped to the Middle East to avoid conviction.
The important point is that even Rushdie who eloquently states that in a democracy both sides should have a right to express their opinion went along with Burka and condemned the Hindus by glossing over the fact that the Hindus were expressing their disgust in a very legitimate and lawful manner. If he had admitted that then he would have become my darling.
The guy also said that those who oppose him were not true Muslims. What! How can he forget that the Islamic hoards had destroyed thousands of our temples and desecrated the idols proof of which is available all over India? True selfish Muslim! Very disgusting to see his schioprenia!
But then we should also realize that Burka Dutt and the NDTV do play to the minorities while trying to be secular and democratic. (sic!)
This interview is important for the fact that the Congressmen invented the threat against him for vote bank politics!
It is a known fact that NDTV is a Congress channel and Pranoy Roy is in the good books of Congress and was perhaps the only tv man to get invitation from PM for a dinner with Obama when he visited India.Barkha Dutt famous for her acting as mediator for Kanimozhi to get Raja the ministry of telecommunication.Even Radia tapes have exposed her clout with the higher ups of Congress.Being a muslim it is no wonder she could interview Rushdie so easily on the very day he was denied even to talk over video.What Rushdie is going to do by coming to India?To join with fundamentalist Islamic forces to bash Hindus?How Barkha knows that only hindu fundamentalism is there and bring the topic to Rushdie probably to please Sonia and thereby try to get a good promotion and make more money?Those who watched the inteview know well what was going on in her mind.She is a mole of Congress if one watches her programme Buck Stops here.Her favourites are that stupid fellow Tiwari whose sight itself makes one getting abhorred.She always used to play host to Congress idiots in debates by her cunning smile to Congress fellows.So there is no wonder everything was well orchestrated and she pretends as if NDTV is the only channel to have an interview with Rushdie.Justice Katju is right when he said that Rushdie is a stupid writer and became famous only becoz of his ‘Satanic Verses’ after the book was banned and Ayatulla Khomeni issued a fatwa to kill him.So the natural interest to see somehting in the book.Otherwise if he comes to India he will surely be lured by Congress and he will try his luck in stifling Hindus.He may even write a book on Hindus in the near future.Absolute idiocy.
I read the Satanic Verses and I found no literary value in it. He of course bashed Mahammed in his dream!
What was disgusting in the interview was that this guy Salman was talking from both sides of his mouth. On the one hand he says he is anti-religious and on the other he can certify who is a true Muslim and who is not!
